1- 10:30 / 12:30: Building Effective Radiological Detection Architectures

Design the Architecture

Every mission is different. Every threat is different. How do you design the right detection architecture?

Description
Designing an effective radiological detection architecture begins long before selecting equipment. It starts with understanding the mission, assessing potential threats and identifying the operational capabilities required to achieve the desired level of protection.

This seminar introduces the fundamental principles of radiological security architecture and presents a structured methodology for designing layered detection systems adapted to borders, transportation hubs, critical infrastructure, military installations and major public events.

Using operational examples and lessons learned from real deployments, participants will discover how mission requirements drive architecture design and why different scenarios require different security strategies.

Highlights

  •  Fundamentals of radiological security architecture

  • Mission-driven system design

  • Radiological threat assessment

  • Layered detection principles

  • Operational Requirements & Capabilities

  • Real deployment examples

Expected Benefits

Participants who complete this seminar will:

  • Understand the methodology used to design radiological detection architectures.

  • Learn how operational requirements determine technology selection.

  • Understand how operational capabilities are translated into layered architectures.

  • Appreciate the value of layered security concepts.

  • Learn from operational experience.

  • Prepare for the Live Experience workshop.

2- 13:30 / 15:00 - Protecting Critical Infrastructure, Borders & Major Events

Deploy the Architecture

How do architectural principles become operational protection strategies?

Description

Every operational environment presents unique challenges. Protecting an airport differs significantly from securing a border crossing, a critical infrastructure or a major international event.

Building on the architectural principles introduced during the previous session, this seminar explores how layered radiological security strategies are applied to different operational environments. Through deployment examples and real-world case studies, participants will discover how technology, operational procedures and coordination combine to create effective protection strategies adapted to each mission.

The session concludes in the exhibition area, where participants will discover the Mirion solutions presented during the seminar through live demonstrations, providing a practical illustration of the operational concepts discussed.

Highlights

  • Mission-specific security architectures

  • Critical infrastructure protection

  • Border & transportation security

  • Major event security

  • Layered radiological protection

  • Technology integration & interoperability

  • Operational planning & alarm management

  • Lessons learned from real deployments

Expected Benefits

Participants who complete this seminar will:

  • Understand how architecture design varies according to operational missions.

  • Learn best practices for protecting critical infrastructure and major events.

  • Discover how fixed, mobile and wearable systems complement one another.

  • Improve alarm management and operational planning.

  • Learn from real deployment case studies.

  • Better understand operational trade-offs and deployment constraints.

3- 15:30 - 17:00 - Global Radiological Situational Awareness

Connect the Architecture

Detection is only the beginning. Information creates operational superiority.

Description

Modern radiological security relies on far more than individual detectors. Effective response requires connecting multiple sensors, platforms and response teams into a common operational picture that supports rapid, informed decision-making.

This seminar presents Mirion's vision of Global Radiological Situational Awareness, demonstrating how data from fixed systems, mobile platforms, wearable detectors and other operational assets can be integrated to improve coordination, accelerate response and enhance operational effectiveness.

The session concludes in the exhibition area, where participants will discover the Mirion solutions presented during the seminar through live demonstrations, providing a practical illustration of the operational concepts discussed.

Highlights

  • Radiological Situational Awareness

  • Multi-domain detection architectures

  • Data fusion & operational intelligence

  • Command & Control ecosystems

  • Multi-platform sensor integration

  • Operational decision support

  • Multi-agency coordination

  • Connected radiological security

Expected Benefit

  • Understand the principles of Radiological Situational Awareness.

  • Learn how heterogeneous detection assets work together.

  • Discover the value of data fusion and centralized command.
